With over 20,000 products in their inventory, EDGE is one of the largest distributors of computer memory, storage devices, flash memory and consumer electronics. In light of their success in the global market, EDGE wanted an e-commerce website that was as robust as their business model is.
EDGE wanted an e-commerce system that didn't exist–one that was scalable, could handle their massive parts database in real time, was truly SEO (Search Engine Optimization) friendly, and would be a breeze to integrate with two back-end ERP systems and an automated order processing and fulfillment application.
EDGE searched for the perfect off-the-shelf system, but they all failed to meet EDGE’s exacting standards. They researched custom-built systems, but didn't feel they were ready for a $100,000 investment.
Ariamedia created a custom system, built to cater to their work-flow, their existing parts database, and order-management system. Additionally, we designed the system to be completely web-accessibility friendly, one that the search engines would have no problem indexing.
Keeping with EDGE’s reputation for delivering quality memory and offering great deals, we created a built-in promotion and coupon system. Additionally, using Conductor Commerce’s advanced URL generator, we built a unique system that generated “static” website addresses for each individual product increasing “readability” of the URL and maximizing search engine friendliness.
EDGE wanted a fresh start, and created a brand new domain. Within three months, Google had indexed over 20,000 pages on the new EDGE Tech Corp commerce website, and had quickly gained ground jumping to top 10 in searches related to their business on the popular search engine and others.
Immediately after launch, EDGE saw a substantial increase in sales and customer retention, and new customer interest, due to the system’s ease of use, and redundant product navigation. Within a few months, the e-commerce website had become a substantial sales channel for the company.
